Pirate ship cake
My favourite modeling medium right now is rice krispie treats , which is what I used to make the ship. The masts were more challenging since I did not want to use paper and did not have any rice paper. I used gumpaste which I cut and allowed to dry in a curved form, cutting out 2 small holes in each where my mast (wooden skewer) would go. I sealed the sails with gumpaste and gum glue then wrapped all exposed skewer with chocolate fondant. I was quite happy with the result. One tier was chocolate cake the other was vanilla cake.
